IMO (International Maritime Organization) proposed the 2030/2050 goals in 2018 to reduce carbon emissions in the shipping industry, and in 2020 passed the IMO short-term emission reduction measures, namely the introduction of the existing ship energy efficiency index EEXI and carbon emission intensity index CII.
